Indian theatre-much like the country's recent film, art and dance offerings-has propelled itself to its rightful place in the labyrinth of mainstream culture.
This beautiful one-woman play re-examines the hopelessness of a world in which the man is master and the woman the object. Through puppetry, dance and sound, Untitled renegotiates the boundaries, presenting an alternative existence in which a woman creates her own circumstance.
Loosely inspired by Euripides' Medea, Lushin Dubey's beautiful performance encapsulates both its tragedy and power.Fascinating in its cultural imaginings and universal in its implications, this is important, well-acted theatre. (Anna Millar)
